Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are and these terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you use TastyMeal.co.UK (the website, any related apps, and our customer services, including email, SMS, in-app notices and live chat). They are a contract between you and TastyMeal.co.UK.

By creating an account, placing an order, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Please also read our Privacy Policy. Extra terms may apply to a specific feature (for example Gift Cards, if you buy one). If those extra terms conflict with these Terms for that feature, the extra terms apply to that feature.

We serve customers in the UK delivery and collection areas we publish (including Grimsby and listed postcodes). We are not a worldwide marketplace.

2. The TastyMeal service (marketplace)

TastyMeal is a platform. Independent restaurants list menus, prepare meals, and sell food to you. We provide the ordering site, customer account, payments we offer, order status, Grains of Seasoning, ranks, and support (including live chat).

The restaurant is responsible for the food: recipes, ingredients, allergens, cooking, hygiene, and packing. Always read the listing. Tell the restaurant about allergies or dietary needs before you order. If you are unsure, do not order that meal.

Menu items, prices, opening hours, delivery areas and timeslots can change. What you pay is the total shown at checkout when you place the order.

3. Your account

Some features need a TastyMeal account. You must give accurate details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.

You must not use the service in a way that breaks the law, harms the site, other customers or restaurants, or is fraudulent or abusive (including fake reviews, multi-accounting to game Grains, or harassment in live chat).

We may suspend or close an account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect customers, restaurants or the service. We will email you where we reasonably can. To close your account, contact us by email or live chat.

4. Orders, payment, delivery and collection

When you place an order you offer to buy those meals from the restaurant(s) through TastyMeal. We acknowledge the order. The restaurant accepts it when they confirm it in their system (and, for PayPal, when payment is captured). An unpaid PayPal checkout that was never completed is not a finished order.

Payment methods we may offer: PayPal (PayPal or card through PayPal), cash on delivery or collection, and card payment at the door. Availability can depend on the restaurant and the order.

You can choose Delivery or Collection where the restaurant offers it. Delivery is only to postcodes we and the restaurant serve. You must be available at the address or collection point you chose.

Timeslots and “expected” times are estimates, not guarantees. A restaurant’s kitchen day can run past midnight: an order placed in the evening may show an expected time after midnight. That is how service-day timing works, not a site error.

If an order is late, tools such as “request my order” ask the restaurant to prioritise it. They are a courtesy, not a promise of a fixed arrival time.

Prices on the site include VAT where VAT applies. If we or the restaurant have clearly mispriced an item, we may cancel that item or the order and refund what you paid for it, or contact you before continuing.

5. Cancellation, refunds and problems

Meals are made to order. Once a restaurant has accepted an order or started preparing it, you do not have a cooling-off right to cancel for change of mind (this is perishable, bespoke food). You may be able to cancel before the restaurant accepts — use My Orders or contact us by email or live chat as soon as you can.

If the restaurant cannot fulfil the order, if we cancel, or if the order is never delivered or available for collection through no fault of yours, you will not be charged for that order (or you will be refunded the amount you paid for it, by the same method where we can).

Complaints about the food itself should be raised with the restaurant and with us promptly, with your order number. Statutory rights for faulty goods or services are not affected.

6. Grains of Seasoning, ranks and perks

TastyMeal runs a loyalty programme on your customer account. It has three parts that work together but are not the same thing:

  • Grains of Seasoning (“Grains”) — a promotional balance you can earn and, when we allow it, spend against an order.
  • Ranks and XP — progress (for example Bite, Silver, Gold, as shown in My Account). Rank is not a currency and cannot be spent.
  • Perks — benefits tied to your current rank (for example free delivery or bonus Grains when you rank up), while that perk is switched on.

6.1 What Grains are — and are not

Grains are a loyalty promotion. They are not cash, not a bank deposit, not e-money, and not redeemable for cash. They are not transferable to another person. They are not cryptocurrency unless we later publish extra terms for an optional crypto-linked feature.

The balance we treat as yours is the Grains total we show (for example in the header and on your Grains page).

6.2 Earning Grains

Eligible meals may show Grains you can earn. Those Grains stay pending until the order is marked Delivered or Collected (as shown on the order). Then they are credited.

If the order is cancelled, refunded, or never delivered or collected, those pending Grains are not credited. We may reverse Grains already credited if we refund or correct the order, or if they were added in error.

Your rank can increase Grains earned on an order. We freeze the rank boost that applied when you placed the order, and use that when we credit after delivery or collection.

6.3 Spending Grains

Where checkout lets you apply Grains, you can spend them as a discount. You cannot spend more Grains than your available balance.

Today you can spend Grains on delivery orders only, and only if the food total (after any coupon or voucher) is above the small-order floor shown at checkout (currently £10). Grains must not pull that food total under the floor.

Higher ranks can make each Grain go further as a pound discount. We still deduct the Grains you actually spend.

If you spend Grains on an order, that order does not also earn Grains.

6.4 Ranks, XP and perks

You earn XP on qualifying completed orders. When your XP crosses the next threshold, your rank updates as shown in My Account. Perks (including free delivery or bonus Grains on rank-up) apply only while you hold that rank and the perk is active.

We may change ranks, XP rates, Grains earn/spend rules, the small-order floor, and perks. The current figures are those shown in your account and at checkout when you order. We do not put rate tables in these Terms because they can change.

6.5 Abuse, closing the account

We may void Grains, reverse credits, and suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe there is fraud, multi-accounting, or other abuse of loyalty.

If you close your account, unused Grains have no cash value, except where the law requires otherwise.

7. Reviews and other content you post

You may post reviews and similar content about restaurants and meals you ordered. Do not post anything illegal, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights. Do not impersonate others or spam.

You grant TastyMeal a non-exclusive licence to use, display and moderate that content on the service. We may remove content that breaks these Terms. Reviews should be genuine.

8. Intellectual property and acceptable use

The site design, TastyMeal name, logos, and our software are owned by us or our licensors. Restaurant names, logos and menu photos remain the restaurant’s or their licensors’. You may use the site for your own personal orders only.

You must not scrape, harvest or republish menus, prices or customer data, overload the service, or try to access other people’s accounts or restaurant systems.

9. Our liability

We will try to keep the service available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages, and restaurant closures can happen.

We are not liable for losses we did not cause, for business losses, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you used the service or placed the order. We are not liable for the restaurant’s food, except where the law says a platform must share responsibility.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that English law does not allow us to limit.

If a meal is late, missing or wrong, contact us (email or live chat) and the restaurant. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Children

You must be 18 or over to place an order. If you are under 18 you may use the site only with a parent or guardian.

11. Changes to the service or these Terms

We may change the service and these Terms (including loyalty rules) to reflect how TastyMeal works, for legal reasons, or to make them clearer. The current Terms are those published on this page. For a significant change we will give reasonable notice where we can (for example on the site or by email).

If a part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right once, we can still enforce it later.

12. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. UK consumers also keep any mandatory protections of UK consumer law.

Questions, account closure, or complaints: email info@TastyMeal.co.UK or use live chat on TastyMeal.co.UK, and include your order number if you have one.
